We do project development with a central WebFOCUS Environment(version 761). Configuration managment of the source has been found to be a big issue(from the client side). The understanding is that it is best done on the central environment, so different teams can work effectively!

Where can I find detailed documentation on how this can be acheived! Preferable to use freeware like Subversion or CVS. Specific implementation steps with respect suggested SCC tools(that can be integrated with Webfocus) would be of immense help!

Thanks,
Venu.

Hi Venu,

Can you please be a little more specific on what you are looking for? For example, are you looking for access controls on the WebFOCUS environment?

WebFOCUS has the feature of working with several different security settings. For general innformation, the following manual on security may be of interest:

WebFOCUS Security and Administration 7.6.1 & Higher

Hope this helps. Smiler

Cheers,

Kerry

venu,

DevStudio works with any SCC complient source control. Subversion is NOT SCC complient, but you can get it to work with DevStudio if you also install an SCC client for subversion such as PushOK. It doesn't work well (won't keep a check out, and forgets the URL all the time - you get what you pay for), but it does work.

Also, we tried the Lightweigth Subversion SCC provider from tigris, but that did not work.

Thanks for the replies. Earlier we were on 5.3.3 and were developing against a remote central server. At that time IB informed that source control does not work for several developers working remotely on central server.

Trying to find out if the feature is available now.
