Actually, I meant HTML, PDF or Excel 2000. Do you want to reduce the number of characters of an alpha column in a report? I would just like to know how to limit a column to a certian width and not have the text wrap around to another line but instead just get cut off WebFOCUS 7.6 Windows, All Outputs | |||

I think this could be done with a CSS. You should be able to set the width of the column with the WebFOCUS stylesheet, and apply a class to the column, to turn wrapping off and and overflow to hidden. Waz...

The reason for the css is because setting the field to a fixed number of characters can display badly with a proportional font. Take the words: Instill Awesome They are the same number of letters, and yet one is longer than the other. Waz...
