I am new to WebFOCUS and am learning via Tutorials and Help screens. I am trying to use a .txt file that has column headings and is pipe delimited. Unfortunately when I try to create a synonym with the flat file option it asks about Cobol definitions that I don't see good 'help' for properly defining. When I create an ODBC datasource I get a message saying "TEST FOR SQLODBC IS NOT SUPPORTED".

Can someone assist me with HOW to create a synonym using WebFOCUS on my localhost with a pipe delimited flat file (varying length with CR LF).

I work in Mesa Arizona, so no IBI offices are anywhere near to take advantage of workshops.

So any good book / further Tutorials to learn WebFOCUS would also be appreciated.

Thank you!

Joyce

its pretty easy. you don't have to create any sort of odbc connection, all you have to do is build a master file.
