I have a FOCEXEC that prints the data from an Excel spreadsheet. I noticed that not all the data is printing.
I have the ODBC setup, create an Excel 97 version, create a Name range that matches the MFD. All that works.
It has something to do with the column formatting but can't quite figure it out. For example:
An employee that has 3 rows and prints 3 lines some of the columns don't print the data. the data is in the spreadsheet. It appears that, at least in one case, a number in a text column, and that is legit data, must have the little green triangle in the spreadsheet in order to print. If I manually edit it and insert a single quote ahead of the number it will print. But if I just format the cell it still won't print. Does that make any sense?
The initial spreadsheet was created from a FOCEXEC.
I wish I could show you the data. Not sure how to upload a spreadsheet to the forum (after I blank out salary and ID information).

I posted an image of the Excel data.
So for example in the green highlighted rows, in column PROG, the 108 prints but the 199 does NOT. In the MAXCAP column, row 25 the 20 does NOT print.

The PROG field is A255V and the MAXCAP is A5V

Have you tried exporting the spreadsheet to a .CSV file and reporting from that?

In answer to your question about how to upload examples the best way is to use to one of the many file sharing sites (I use tinypic.com) and then the URL tag available here. That way the example shows up like you see here:

Oops! I see you found out about sharing examples already... but maybe this will help others.

I opened a case with IBI. When we figure it out I'll update the post.

This is the response form IBI:
The column in the spreadsheet contains some records with only numbers and some
with combination of numbers and letters. Excel is saving the numeric records
as 'General' format which is a numeric format stored in binary. When WebFOCUS
generates a Master file, it assumes that the entire column is the same format
(meaning 'General' vs 'text' in Excel format).

My solution was:
To create a macro that uses the TextToColumns function to change the 11 columns involved and will add that step to the process.
