The documentation and this forum have covered this before.

There are several methods. depending on the DB and the environment

Thanks Waz !

My database is DB2.

I have to read the database name from table and can set the &CONNECTION. But do I have to call this fex every time as include statement or possible to execute the fex which sets the connection every time at the server level so that every request will execute it.

Thanks.

I would have thought that you would have set this up in the WebFOCUS Server under Adapters.

Please update your signature to include your OS and WF version.

Hi Waz,

Client using WebFocus 8, Reporting Server - Linux and WF Client is Windows.

Following Fex code which sets up the DB connection and need to execute the fex everytime user logs in. I am looking where fex resides so that every time user logsin it will execute the following fex and set the connection of DB. I don't want to use include fex in all the reports.
What will be best place to keep the fex (site.wfs , any idea).
-------------------------------------------
-DEFAULT &CONNECTION ='';
-SET &USERID = CNCTUSR('A30');

TABLE FILE USER_DBCONNECTION_VJ
PRINT JNDI_NM
WHERE USER_DBCONNECTION_VJ.USER_CUSTOM_USER_ID=&USERID
ON TABLE SAVE
END
-RUN

-IF &RECORDS EQ 0 THEN GOTO NODATA;
-READ SAVE &DBCONNECTION.A20.

-SET &CONNECTION = &DBCONNECTION
-------------------------------------------
Connection is already configured in the adapter.

Please suggest me on this.

Thanks.
WebFocus 8, Reporting Server - Linux and WF Client is Windows.
