I keep getting the error
(FOC350) ERROR WRITING OUTPUT FILE: FOC$HOLD
when the outout is hold to a focus table using
ON TABLE HOLD AS XX FORMAT FOCUS INDEX YY.
Any one had dealt with this error?
I have WF 5.3.2 running on Win2K.

Is it possible you have a master called FOC$HOLD somewhere in the App path?

I agree with Pietro's idea. If you have SET TEMPDIR or FILEDEF HOLDMAST ever, anywhere, you've probably got foc$hold.* still sitting in your path. find 'em and nuke 'em.
WHENCE FOC$HOLD MASTER
will find your first problem

I looked at all my apps and didn't fine FOC$HOLD MASTER. I checked with susannah option(WHENCE FOC$HOLD MASTER), but got this message (FOC1892) FILE NOT FOUND : FOC$HOLD MASTER

Does the request work without the HOLD statement?

Does it work when the HOLD format is another format, like ALPHA?

Try testing it with the CAR file, something like this:

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM SALES
BY COUNTRY
ON TABLE HOLD AS XX FORMAT FOCUS INDEX COUNTRY
END

(which works for me).

It is working fine after restarting the webfocus service on the server. But I am not sure why this was happend.
