Hey all,

So, I'm trying to build a portal. This portal has an HTML document (housing filter controls) populating the left banner that affects the cooresponding reports and/or charts within the various pages of the portal.

My issue/need is the ability to retain default or selected filters across all pages within the portal with the added ability to add additional filter controls to this filter.html I have in the left banner depending on what page the user is on.

So, lets say the user is on one page that only needs data filters visible down to the retail store level. The user then chooses a different page within the portal that requires an additional cashier level filter. How can I dynamically change a single filter.html housed within the left banner to change depending on page selected while keeping filters previously selected but adding/removing additional filters when/where needed??

Has anyone here attempted this before? And how did you go about it? I thought I could merely add a new panel on the left of each page with a unique filter.html specific to that page, but I'm unsure if the filters from one page will carry over to the other pages when made active.

Thanks for any help in advance!

There is no good way - as far as I have researched it. Easiest way to get answer would be to open case with IBI. Thats what I have done.

If you are adding a filter it would be the same as hide and unhide the filter. The default of the filter is ALL. Then in javascript or JQuery you can validate which page you are on.

David,

How does one hide/unhide a filter control within an HTML doc depending on what page is selected with Js or jQuery as you state is possible. Sorry, I'm fairly new to this and appreciate what help you are able to give.

I tried to find an IbComposer_... function that would help, but no luck yet. What functions would I use and where do I find an identifier for a particular portal page? Can't seem to figure out what I would use as an identifier. The page title or page name maybe?

Hi all,

I opened a case with tech support and this was the response:

"You can have all the filters on one page or the banner and if the reports don't use the filters it will ignore all the extra filters.

You could also have a separate filter page for each Portal page.

In App Studio you can Refresh one page or all pages."

So, I guess at this point in time the BIP does not have the capacity for dynamic filter addition/removal from one filter.html being used for all reporting objects across the entire portal.

Lame.
