Hi,

We have started using WebFOCUS (portal development only) now.

We have created some reports, pages, portals, etc. in our development environment.

I am thinking about backing up the above objects. I did not see any option in InfoAssist or BIP to backup individual files/objects. Change Management's Export option seems to be working based on Portal only.

We understand from our third party (responsible for metadata development and high level management of the system) that they backup the environment but we don't want to go to them to ask restoring a report, for example, when needed.

Is there any way where we can backup our own work and restore the same when needed?

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Manoj.

Are your reports stored under a domain? If so you can use the change management tool to selectively backup individual reports or anything under the domain.

Thank you for using Focal Point!

Chuck,

Do you know if there is any way to created a scenario that just selects files that have been recently changed?

Just thinking that would be nice so you don't need to CM the entire domain if only a few files have changed.

Thanks Chuck. I can see the domain and also individual reports, folders, etc.. The only prerequisite is I need to be a member of the Admin group.

Kind regards,

Manoj.

Yes they will need to give you that privilege..

I checked with product management and there is no functionality to screen for screening for recently changed. You could write a report against the repository and at least find out which reports have been recently updated and then use that list to create a change package. Sounds like a great new feature request to me.
