As of December 1, 2020, Focal Point is retired and repurposed as a reference repository. We value the wealth of knowledge that's been shared here over the years. You'll continue to have access to this treasure trove of knowledge, for search purposes only.
New TIBCO Community Coming Soon
In early summer, TIBCO plans to launch a new community—with a new user experience, enhanced search, and expanded capabilities for member engagement with answers and discussions! In advance of that, the current myibi community will be retired on April 30. We will continue to provide updates here on both the retirement of myibi and the new community launch.
What You Need to Know about Our New Community
We value the wealth of knowledge and engagement shared by community members and hope the new community will continue cultivating networking, knowledge sharing, and discussion.
During the transition period, from April 20th until the new community is launched this summer, myibi users should access the TIBCO WebFOCUS page to engage.
You can install both the versions on the same machine..the only thing you need to do is run the thisfoci.bat file found in C:\ibi\ibi\DevStudio7X\bin folder each time you want to switch to a diff version. This file registers the dlls required to the run the DS.
If you plan to do local development on both then while installing you need to change the alias names for the ibi_apps and ibi_html contexts.

WF 7.7.03/Windows/HTML,PDF,EXL POC/local Dev Studio 7.7.03 & 7.6.11
To use multiple versions of Developer Studio I find it useful to put shortcuts to the various thisfoci.bat files on my desktop, and change the shortcut names to include the version. I also make shortcuts to the various focshell.exe files, again with the version in the name.
Now I can quickly run a specific thisfoci.bat and then the focshell.exe to change versions without any hassle.
I currently have three different D.S. versions immediately available to me on my desktop.
I have many installed - and many webfocus installed. I use a soft alias of ds7611_apps/ds7611_html, wf7611_apps/wf7611_html, etc. I usually only keep 3 or 4 active in tomcat at any one time so my single tomcat doesn't run out of memory (just drag the files out of the conf directory). Other people use multiple tomcat definitions. My other trick is that I install many server versions, all using different port numbers (769=6900-4, 7611=6110, etc.) so I can have them running at the same time and switch back and forth. (I don't do that with the servers shipped with Devstudio though).
