I want to create a synonym for a .dat file which has the fields seperated by comma.
I have created Windows ODBC connection and formated the dat file. Then I added the ODBC connection into WebFocus Server and try to create synonym. when I click on synonym, I get all the .dat files as Tables. But when I select dat file to create synonym, an error is generated that .dat file does not exist.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi Faisal,

Has this issue regarding ODBC synonym been resolved?

I ran a quick search on Information Builder's online documentations and came across to the following topics which may be of interest:

"SQL Server does not exist or access denied"
http://techsupport.informationbuilders.com/sps/90071083.html

CREATE SYNONYM fails -> FOC1400/1406 for multi-ODBC sources http://techsupport.informationbuilders.com/sps/41621051.html

You will need to have a userid/password to access the above pages.

In addition, you may also want to search on old Focal Point posts and see if you can find helpful suggestions.

Hope this helps. Big Grin

Cheers,

Kerry
