I want user to start a report from internet explorer that uses there login ID as variable for that report.

when you say 'their login' do you mean their network login or their login to a webfocus MRE site?
If 1, Can you use IWA to pass their network login to an asp launch page?
If 2, look up MRE USER ID on the tech docs to see how to grab that variable.

Susannah, I mean in this case their network login ID, but that ID is the same as their code in the account manager database table and it is the same as their user ID in the MRE.
1) What is IWA?
2) I know how to use the mre user_id, that will also part of the functionality I'm thinking of.

Frank,

IWA stands for Integrated Windows Authentication. You can do a google search for more information about this Authentication. You can also review the WebFOCUS Security and Administration Manual for more information about configuring WebFOCUS with IWA.

Mon
