[CLOSED] Processing a file with multiple recordtypes
Hello

I have a file with three recordtypes. Each recordtype has a different layout. The file is fixed-lenght 100.
The three records can be distinguished by the recordtype. That is the first position, alafanumeric:
recordtype 0 is the heading record, containing a date and sequencenumber of the file
recordtype 1 is the data record, containing all the attributes
recordtype 9 is the trailer record, containing a field that tells how many records were in the file

We are still using three separate masterfiles, but is it possible to describe this in one masterfile?

Can I then embed this in a dataflow in Datamigrator, whereby my source is the file and the target is a table?
So I can map file attributes of the datarecords (recordtype 1) to the attributes of the target table?

We try to do everything in the Graphical User Interface.

We have DMC release 81M gen 833

Thnx
Ron

Ok, and I suppose that in mine example we are talking about : "â—¾The records have no meaningful positional relationship"?

I will read the url you referred to and see if I can build a dataflow reading a file and writing to a table. Thnx a lot. Come back to you if I encounter any issues Smiler
