Using the Compound Layout Report syntax with components and XLSX output, each component is put in a separate XL sheet.
Is there a way to have all the components in the same sheet?

I would have thought that the standard syntax to add a report to the end of another report (Can't remember off the top of my head) would do what you want.

use: NOBREAK

in the first report:
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX OPEN NOBREAK
END

2nd report:
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX NOBREAK
END

last report:
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX CLOSE
END

True, but... this syntax is on the way out... and the newer syntax doesn't seem to offer this functionality.
Maybe Chuck has an insight?

About the new syntax: it offers the possibility to refer to an existing procedure, which is a big improvement,in parallel to creating HTML pages where one can have on one page reports, graphs etc...

Its been 5 years or so, but I'm sure it can be done, as I think I've done it.

All comes down to the compound layout syntax.

You can attach a report to the end of another report.

The syntax is probably hiding under a defunct manual...

Better not be on the way out, I have several reports that have been running for years with this syntax.

I'm sorry I don't have any additional insight on this. Compound reports have been around a while and I doubt they would radically change it because of John's concern. Techsupport is your best bet to find out.
