Hi all,

I created a BI Portal, in which I have 3 charts displayed side by side. Each chart has a drill down report associated with it, and the drill downs open in an iFrame which sits below those 3 charts.

My concern is that when I click on the chart to drill down, there is no indication of the drill down being loaded. The user might thing the dashboard in not working. Is there a way to fix this? or can we add custom loading icon or message when we click on charts?

Thank you,
Gagan | WebFocus 8.105

How is the iFrame created ?

Portals have a loading icon, and HTML composer also has one as well.

I created iFrame in App Studio and the drill downs have target = 'Iframe1'

Interesting, I would have thought that the drill would have fired the onload.

Well, the drill downs load and work fine, but there is no indication that drill down is loading. I just look at the blank iFrame until the drill down shows up and when I click on another chart, I am still looking at previous drill down until the new one shows up.

I am looking at other posted discussions and trying to add custom loading icon: http://forums.informationbuild...7002886?r=4257002886

Well, I can only suggest that you will need to handle this in your code.

I can think of several ways to do this.

  • Call a fex that returns a wait page that calls the report.
  • Call Javascript to add a wait page, and have it call the report
  • Possibly have a js timer checking the status of the iFrame and if its not complete, then show the wait page.
