I installed WebFocus on Windows 2008 R2. Getting the following Error, when trying to open a new environment I created:

---------------------------
WinInet Error: server /
---------------------------
Error Code: 12029. A connection with the server could not be established

Error connecting to http://localhost:80.
Server is not running or wrong port number specified.
---------------------------
OK

Settings:
Host name: localhost
Protocol: HTTP
Port: 80 (I stopped the default website)
Mid-tier type: servlet
Mid-tier path /ibi_apps

Thanks

There are few things you need to verify.

1) Check whether your WebFocus reporting server is up and running.

http://yourserver:8121

2) If that is good then check your tomcat.

http://yourserver:8080

If you want to get the/a name of the server when you only have the ip address, then use this command:
ping -a {ip address}

OK, so, when you installed you chose the IIS connector instead of standalone for Tomcat?

Remember when you create the WF domain you need to add the ISAPI filter, check the workers.properties is pointing to the right Tomcat and you also need to make sure your jakarta/isapi.dll has execute rights in the IIS.

Also, when you create the new domain, you need to put the .Net Framework for the Application Pool to be version 4.x. - it defaults to a lower version.

Cheers,
H.
