I want to deploy a reporting application into production.
I have a few doubts..could be real basic.
I have Tomcat as the Web/App server.
Now do i have to instal both the WF Client and server in the machine? I have HTML requests coming in from the web server into the reporting server.

You have to install WFClient on the webserver machine and Webfocus server on the Appserver machine.

You only need to install the WF Client on the Tomcat machine. This will create a context for the WF servlet.

When the Tomcat web server receives a request for a report (identified by the URL), it forwards the processing on to the WF servlet. The servlet will contact the WF Report Server on the separate box. The Report Server will prepare the response and send it back out through the Tomcat box.

Related to using Tomcat as the web and application server - Tomcat's default port is 8080 but you can change it to 80 very easily.

After reading Kamesh's response I think a "picture" might help:

PC browser ---> Tomcat server (WF client)-----> any server (WF Report Server)
