The following code:

MODIFY FILE lawdata
 FREEFORM OFFICE_ID OFFICE_NAME
 MATCH OFFICE_ID
  ON NOMATCH INCLUDE
  ON MATCH REJECT
DATA
DAL, Dallas,$
CHI, Chicago,$
NY,  New York,$
HOU, Houston,$
END
-RUN

Produces the following HTML:

<PRE>
...
 0 TRANSACTIONS:         TOTAL =     4  ACCEPTED=     0  REJECTED=     4
 SEGMENTS:             INPUT =     0  UPDATED =     0  DELETED =     0
</H5>
...

Is it possible to suppress the '0' that 'prints', on the first line of the MODIFY stats?

(I believe the '0' is from legacy FOCUS, where it told a device to skip a line.)

I am running this code on WFDS 7.7, on a Windows XP SP 3 box.

Thank you,
Dave

David,

I'm curious why you need to remove the '0'. The MODIFY stats are kind of useful for debugging but not much use in production (at least for me). I see that in your example there are zero ACCEPTs and 4 REJECTs. Is it the case that you get a lot of rejected transactions and need to track them?

I have some long MODIFYs and I just run a TABLE request at the end to count the successful ones and then keep the result in a separate database. I run a report off that database to see how our datamart is shaping up. The number of ACCEPTS and REJECTS are stored in variables and you could use those to populate a TABLE or a separate statistics database as I do. If you take that approach you can create a nice looking report and forget about the pesky '0' on the MODIFY statistics.

The "0" is a throw back to the old Mainframe days of print control chars in the output, If my memory serves, it means a skip line.

I don't think you can get rid of it.
