Hi,
We are using dialog manager to write a number(or word) into a txt file. The following is the code:

-DEFAULT &PARAMETER = '100'
FILEDEF parameter DISK r_poc/parameter.txt
-RUN
-WRITE parameter &PARAMETER
-CLOSE parameter

where parameter.txt is the text file.
This works fine.

Now our requirement is to write more than one parameters separated by a 'TAB Space i.e. /t'

So our code will be something like this:
-DEFAULT &PARAMETER1 = '100'
-DEFAULT &PARAMETER2 = '200'
-DEFAULT &PARAMETER3 = '300'
FILEDEF parameter DISK r_poc/parameter.txt
-RUN
-WRITE parameter &PARAMETER1 (some code for /t) &PARAMETER2 (some code for /t)&PARAMETER3
-CLOSE parameter

We need help to now Dialog manager command to write a tab space. We tried '/t' but it writes '/t' as such

Use the function HEXBYT to set an Amper variable to the TAB char.

e.g.
-SET &TAB = HEXBYT(9,'A1');

The 9 assumes Ascii character set.

The issue has been solved.

Hi Waz,

Thanks a lot for the immediate reply.
The solution you suggested worked for us. Only that &TAB300 i.e. a Tab with a constant number is understood as a new parameter and WF starts prompting for TAM300!! Smiler But not a problem for us, because we are not using constants.

Thanks again.

Regards,
Anuja
