[Solved] BID Set Group view as default
In BID, I have 1 public view and 2 group views. For whatever reason, we have standardized on using the 2 group views for our 2 distinct populations. When I build new Managed Reporting users, they automatically get my Public view assigned. Can I set one of the group views to be the default instead?

Hve you tried going to View Builder
Manage Users
Reassign
select a few users
select the view you want
and save your changes?
try it with your own userid first.

That's what I'm doing now. I don't want to have to wait until the user logs on for that table to get seeded. I also don't want to have to rely on others to do this manually.

It seemed like such an easy setting that I was just missing... Sigh.

ABT,

You might be looking for "GoToPersonalViewOnLogin" keyword. See this link

Rivo,
Thanks for the link, but that's still not what I'm looking for.

"If the user is a member of a single group view, the user is automatically logged into that group view."

In my case, the Public view is assigned to the user by default and until they log in, I cannot change them to the Group view #1.

I'm beginning to think that this is the default behavior and working as designed and this option is not there because that function is not supported.

ABT,

The user inherits the Public View either because the user is logging in for the first time from a Public View, BID login link on the Welcome Page or the login URL {../ibi_apps/bid-login} on a custom login page.

To have users inherit a particular View, you can do the following:

1) Users who log on by accessing a group view URL directly, log on to that group view and inherit the look and content of that group view as their own personal view.

For example : http://servername:{port}/ibi_apps/bid/aa_gbv

2) Set GoToPersonalViewOnLogin parameter to false. The users log on to a page displaying all of the group views accessible to them. Clicking a group view from this page logs users on to the selected group view, and their own personal view inherits the look and content of that group view.

3) Users can be re-assigned views from Manage Users in View Builder.

For more information on the BID Login and View inheritance mechanism see link below:
