Hi All,

In Our EXL2K report, we have a field with D12.6 format.
In Excle output we need to show only 2 decimal points(like 65.57) in each cell.
If the customer click or double click the value(cell) in excel, need to display entire decimal value (like 65.57488) in formula bar or cell.

It's working in EXL07 output. But how to achieve this in EXL2K format.

Thanks..

I'd start with outputting to a template which has the decimal display format of the cells set to 2 places which the fex outputs 6 places.

Thanks Doug...

But in my report we can't use Excel template since it's a compound report including a pivot and dynamic excel sheet's(BYTOC).

Is there any other way...?

I recall seeing this solved in a different thread just yesterday.

It turns out that if your field format is D12.6 and you PRINT it to Excel using /D12.2, Excel will display the value with 2 fractional positions, but the cell value has 6!

Like so:
DEFINE FILE CAR
	FIELD1/D12.6 = 12.345678;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
     CAR.COMP.CAR
	 FIELD1/D12.2

BY  LOWEST CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY
ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM NOLEAD
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT XLSX
ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
     INCLUDE = endeflt,
$
ENDSTYLE
END

WebFOCUS 8.1.03, Windows 7-64/2008-64, IBM DB2/400, Oracle 11g & RDB, MS SQL-Server 2005, SAP, PostgreSQL 11, Output: HTML, PDF, Excel 2010

Thanks Wep5622,

It's working well in EXL07 and XLSX output formats.
But we need the same in EXL2K output.

DEFINE FILE CAR
	FIELD1/D12.6 = 12.345678;
END
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT
     CAR.COMP.CAR
	 FIELD1/D12.2

BY  LOWEST CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY
ON TABLE SET PAGE-NUM NOLEAD
ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT EXL2K
ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON
ON TABLE SET STYLE *
     INCLUDE = endeflt,
$
ENDSTYLE
END

Is there a particular reason why "XLSX" output format is not acceptable and "EXL2K" is?

What version of Excel is the user using?

My understanding is that XLSX should be used in WebFOCUS 8...

Hi Doug,

User have Excel 2007 & above versions...

My Understanding is XLSX/EXL07 output types sending entire decimal values to excel with D12.2 cell format where as EXL2K store the value as D12.2 format and then send to excel output.

Is there any way to override this...?

In my excel compound report, we have 4 reports including Pivot and dynamic excel sheet's(BYTOC). so that only we are using EXL2K output format.
