[CASE OPENED 2017-05-19] HTML composer can not move radiobutton controls

Hi,

All of a sudden we are no longer able to move ( drag ) radio-button in the HTML-composer.

Spare me the work-arounds, I know at least 3.

When the radiobutton control is selected the "sizing" boxes no longer appear. Making dragging around impossible.

We're at IE11 11.0.9600.18638
udpates: 11.0.41 ( KB4014661 )

[ April 11th 2017 security-update ]

No, I can not "roll-back" because of Group-policy.

Anyone else?

Can you still select it in the properties list dropdown? (I suspect not, considering that the sizing boxes don't appear).
It's possible that you changed the positioning to floating or relative and Composer doesn't handle that well.

Another option is that another control is overlaying your radio buttons. Moving that out of the way would fix it as well.

Another possibility is that you have a stylesheet (CSS) loaded that influences positioning. Removing the stylesheet temporarily may fix things. We have a very similar issue when we load our responsive.css. Thankfully, the stylesheet is very easy to add again.

Hi Wep,

it's not the styling. That hasn't changed.
And we can make a new HTML without any styling to reproduce the issue.

and yes, the dropdown DOES appear, even without the placeholders ( sizing boxes ).

Changing the control to any other type ( except checkboxes ) will make it movable again.

Changing the properties by hand ( e.g. top: and left: ) works. Using the cursorskeys, works.

Just not by mouse.

Must be something with the fact that radio's and checks are actually a cluster of controles.

According to your signature you're using 8.0.0.9. Are you also using App (or Dev) Studio 8.0.0.9?

We're on a mix of 8.1.03 (server/client) to .05 (App/Dev Studio) and we haven't seen your issue, so it may be one of the things they fixed.

Could be worth trying whether AS 8.1.05 is usable in your environment, but chances are that it changes HTML's in ways incompatible with older versions...

We have pretty straight forward HTML's, shouldn't be a problem.

We don't use AS. Because it's a one-way-street. ( can't go back ).

And I'm trying to find out what happen. This used to work. Now all of a sudden it doesn't. Must be windows-update ( IE ) or something.

Hi Dave,
I can't remember exactly all the details (since I don't anymore have access to my previous employer case list) but I also had a similar issue with 8.0.0.9 where I wasn't able to move/resize controls with the mouse. I had to move it with the arrows (or HTML code) and resize in HTML code directly.

As you think, it was an issue with IBI version and browser/Windows update. I had tried to revert Windows/browser updates but without any success.

To solve it : update to 8.1.0.5

WF versions : Prod 8.2.04M gen 33, Dev 8.2.04M gen 33, OS : Windows, DB : MSSQL, Outputs : HTML, Excel, PDF
