How about visiting the IBI website and search for training?

You may find this

http://education.informationbuilders.com/edu/toc.html

You also can get training in India.

Your knowledge of VBA will not help you others than that you understand programming steps like loops and parameters.

There is an office in New Delhi too!!

Anant,

1. Get yourself a set of manuals. You can get them in PDF form for free or purchase them in print. Read them many times.

2. Get a copy of Developer Studio (DS) and install it on your PC (you corporate house should provide it). Practice what you read. When you are in a situation where you need some help, search the forum first. If you still are in a quandary, ask your question here.

3. When you have mastered the basics, both by using the DS GUI interface and by writing code on your own, you should be able to produce reports.

4. As for creating applications, there are many ways, but that is a bit further down the road.

I was/am in a similar situation. I would add to the previously posted suggestions: read this website daily.

Given your programming background, you know what you want to do but don't know how to translate that in to WebFocus.

In my case, I knew I'd need to know how to work with dates, subtotals and totals, user input, etc. Now, each time I see something useful on this discussion group, I grab the code, describe it programming terms I'm familiar with and save it to a (ever-growing) Word document.

The folks who frequent this site are very knowledgeable and only ask you do some research on your problem before posting a question.

i agree with Mike there are many generous knowledgable people on here who, if shown respect, will help you with anything they can...

the same can't always be said for IT/Developer forums so i feel its lucky such a place exists...
