Folks

The dev studio settings reachable from an explorer window via

Window - Options

are stored in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_USER.

Is there any way to lock these keys so we can present a uniform environment to our users who have been given Power Report.

The main requirement is to restrict them from setting the "Show Web Applications Area" setting on the Explorer tab. I have raised a separate topic about this asking for another way of tackling the problem.

This might be a bit "brute force", but can you implement a group policy on the machines that prevents changing those registry settings?

Production: 7.6.6 WF Server  <=>  7.6.6 WF Client  <=>  7.6.6 Dev Studio
Testing: <none>
Using MRE & BID.  Connected to MS SQL Server 2005
Output Types: HTML, Excel, PDF
