I'm going to preface this message with saying I'm a noobie, so apologies for that in advanced.

I'm having issues getting my percentages to read correctly when using the aggregation function, they appear to be rounding down for some unknown reason.

After struggling with it for a while I decided I would just use the compute function to do the same thing. However after I got it all finished I went to apply a Within to it so the percentages would add up per Product category opposed to the subtotal at the bottom and they aren't adding up how they are suppose too.

After searching through all the options I could think of and through all the forums with no success I thought I'd just seek assistance.

Here are some screenshots:

Hi Cimmerian,

Welcome to Focal Point! Thank you for all the work that you have done so far with reviewing and reaching this issue.

With the COMPUTE please change the FORMAT from D12.2% to P12.2%

Please review the following Focal Point Forum link for the difference between D and P formats.

[CLOSED] Webfocus rounding and subtotaling .

Hope this provides some assistance, let us know and if so update the subject line with the appropriate TAG word - [SOLVED]

Thank you for participating in the Focal Point Forum.

Thanks for the reply Smiler

So I changed the D to a P in compute and it appears to be rounding a little different but still isn't adding up to 100% per Product Category like its suppose to with the within function.

I actually got it to work by using the define function and just adding the Quantity Sold field into it, not quite sure why though...

Hi Cimmerian

It looks like you have been able to resolve this issue. It has been marked [SOLVED] for you.

As a rule, members mark the subject with the TAG words - seeTag your topic with keywords.

There are differences the way COMPUTEd columns work and DEFINEd columns work.
Check the following link:

Define Vs Compute
