I'm save a CSV file using COMT, I have the SET EMPTYREPORT = ON in the report. When I run the report and no rows are returned I get a completely empty file. What I need is to always have at least the headings returned on the first row even if there is no data. We are using WF 8.08

Does anyone know how to make this work?

I tried that. It isn't working. I did find a work around. I put a test in to see if any vales are returned. If there are zero records returned then I do a branch (goto) to create a report that is one record and is just the titles and save hat. If there are greater than one record return then I process he report normally.

Thanks for Help. If anyone has other suggestions to try to make it work I'm open to still trying to get it to work without all the hocus pocus. But if this is the only way then I can live with it. Aint pretty but gets the job done.

The difference between EMPTYREPORT = ON or ANSI (when it operates, as in a formatted report) is that ON yields just column-headings, while ANSI yields those plus one row of null data. So ANSI is not what Lee is looking for.

If ON (with COMT) yields no output file, or an empty file, it's either a feature or a bug, depending whether it's documented.
