Hello,

I have a report that I've created in the document composer. It consists of three reports that are "coordinate reports". I need to burst these reports through report caster.

All is working great except they don't want to have to open an attachment. They want the report inline.

I've found some research that says if I change the format in report caster to DHTML (*htm, *mht) and then name the report as ...htm then it will burst. However when I run the report caster job it creates the reports as .mht.

Any ideas how to force report caster to use htm?
Thanks

Hi,

If your all three report are tabular report then select output format HTML from schedule window and there is a option in Distribution section Select One Report as Inline message .

I am hoping that this will help you.

Thanks!

Hello,

I have to make all 3 reports as a compound report that I can burst. You can not do compound reports with HTML. So I added the 3 reports together in the Document composer.

Then in report caster I select the report as an inline report.

The problem is the In Line won't work. So in the format of report caster I had to select DHTML and then I found where to change the extension to htm. That still is not working.

Thanks

Here is the WebFOCUS 8104 Report Caster documentation.

Here are a few pages that might help.
Bursting Guidelines and Limitations Page 159

Inline: Page 259
Using the Email Distribution Option in the Advanced Scheduling Tool
When you distribute a report through email, you can include the report in the body of the email
(known as an inline email message) or send it as an attachment. Only the HTML, DHTML, WP,and DOC formats can be distributed as an inline email message.

You have also opened a case for this so the subject line will be marked accordingly.

Please update us with your resolution to this issue.
