How to move up the tabs on dashboard
Hello,

I am trying to reduce the spacing between the top and the tabs on my dashboard. I have found the following links that discusses how to resize or get rid off the banner. When I resize or get rid off the banner I get a white space between the tabs and the top. Any ideas?

Sayed,

Not sure if this is what is causing the blank lines in your case, but there is a "Message of the Day" line that fits between the banner and the tabs.

In 76x it appears to be checked by default and results in a blank line even if no message has been entered. You can turn this off by editing the Look and selecting "Message" in the left hand list.

Hope this helps

You have to edit the profile of the dashboard view and change the banner size there as well. I'm sure one of the pages you refer to mentions that.

The file profile.prf is in Drive:\ibi\WebFOCUS53\worp\worp_custom\xx_gbv

The extra space may also be caused by the Message Of The Day, as mentioned by Stu. He tells you how to remove the Message Of The Day.

ah...
the last of those 3 links has it almost right.
there are 3 files you have to edit
the profile
the banner.html , both in /worp_custom/{your}/
and the third is
layout.xml
in /worp_users/{your}/
make the 3rd change a bit more generous, say by 30 pixels
than the image-specific sizes in the other two files.
then recycle tomcat, and smile.
(revision: you don't have to recycle tomcat)
happy fourth of july everyone
especially you, Tony A.

This is spooky, I've been asked by my Client to modify the BID look to get colourings etc. more in line with their colour palette.

Likewise to you Susannah and all your compatriots - happy Friday Wink

i'm gunna do some more modifications..like move the logo to the links bar and get rid of all that wasted white space..
and then copy it all, including a screen shot for the look.jpg , into the worp7 (the brown one), so it appears as an available choice for my colleagues. i'll let you know how it goes

Once you create a new dashboard look just add a directory for the new look under the "worp_html" directory as "worp_something" and copy your revised view into it. With that naming convention it will show up as an available choice in the view builder.

That's only half the story, Alex.
the layout.xml doesnt' get edited by just copying a worp directory.
The same problem remains as in the first 2 urls that Sayed researched.
