Hello,

In our WebFOCUS enviroment, we use window authentication (WIA). I am the system adminstrator and when I log into dashboard I see all the domain and links etc.

I need to create a how-to user document and for which i need to mimic the user login.

Is there a way I can log into WebFOCUS as a regular user. I tried to create a local windows account and similar WebFOUCS user but when I logged into windows locally I couldn't access network\IE.

Please help.

I have LDAP authentication and I am able to log in as reguler users.
I would like to know little more about your environment. Are you using public dashboard for all users or public and group dashboards?
Here is how I am working:
I have 5 test accounts since I have group and public dashboard:

User1 public
User2 Certain Group with group profile
User3 Certain Group with group profile
User4 Certain Group with group profile
USer5 Certain Group with group profile

All of these users are in IBI and in AD domin with same user names.
I log on to my computer with my persoanl username and profil. When I access dashboard I user specific username I am testing dashboard for. For example, User1 as username and password of user1. Its default funtionality of IBI.
You dont need to loginto windows as local user. Just give user access logon to network and you should be all set. Create user account in IBI with same userID. you can access dashboard using this user from any computer on the network.

Thanks, Arif.

I am using public dashboard. My issue is when I go to Dashboard URL, it automatically logs me in using my windows AD account. How can I make it prompt me for the username and password?

Also what you meant by 'Just give user access logon to network' and how can this be done?

The only easy way I see is, since you are administrator, to create a unprivileged functional test-user account and use that to log on to dashboard, thereby mimicking a 'normal' user.
With these things it is either all users have single-sign on or none of them have it. You can't have both method implemented on one system...
