Hi,
Have a look at the sql below.

select amount,type from table a ,table b
where
a.queue_id = b.queue_id
and a.queue_vrsn= b.queue_vrsn
order by a.seq_no desc

This query will return me amny rows ordered by seq no descending. now I need to get the first 3 rows and keep them in 3 different variables.

Any idea how to do it??

Thanks,
Kalyan.

I suggest you do an ON TABLE HOLD in your first request. Then do a TABLE FILE HOLD and use WHERE READLIMIT EQ 3. This will get you only the 1st 3 records, you can then either hold these, or display them, as needed.

After you HOLD the file with three lines then use -READ to read the HOLD file and assign the values into your variables.
