Hello:
Hopefully somebody can give me some ideas. I have an Excel workbook (with several worksheets) that have some complex calculations. I'd like to create an Excel Template from this workbook and reload data into this. Let the calculations do their thing, and then extract the data (calculated results). Here's the dilemma. This has to run in a Production batch mode (on the mainframe). How can I kick off a WebFOCUS Focexec in a batch mode? And would the calculated results be available if I do not 'open' the Excel Workbook?

Any tips/pointers appreciated.

Thanks,
Diptesh Patel

Excel is live it does not work as a background process, Mainframe batch is batch it has to be submitted.

If you do not open the excel how do you expect it to be able to call anything.

Rethink what you are trying to do.
