Hi,

I need to have a row total (an average) of PCT data across a particular field. Below is a code using the CAR file.

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM PCT.RC
BY BODYTYPE
ACROSS COUNTRY
END
-EXIT

The output and required average snapshot is posted at http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=jt7a12&s=3

So, for SEDAN,it comprises 69% for ENGLAND and 76.2% across all the countries.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dan

No luck Tom. If you look at the ENGLAND column, it contain PCT of the data by bodytype. Total for each column is always 100%

The last column AVERAGE is an average of the PCT by bodytype across country (which is variable number of countries).

Because you are taking an average of the PCT values, you need to HOLD the data first and then use a multi-verb request with a COMPUTE after the ACROSS to get what you want.

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM PCT.RETAIL_COST WITHIN COUNTRY
BY COUNTRY
BY BODYTYPE
ON TABLE HOLD AS THEDATA
END
-RUN
TABLE FILE THEDATA
SUM AVE.RETAIL_COST NOPRINT
BY BODYTYPE
SUM RETAIL_COST
BY BODYTYPE
ACROSS COUNTRY
COMPUTE AVERC/D3%=C1;
END

Thanks!

Mickey
