Anyone know if there is an Restful Service API for changing the user password?

We built our own banner and we can handle the close and sign out, but we would like to give the customer the ability to change their password as well. Since it's stored encrypted in uoa_users, we can't do this ourselves.

Hi, I'm not aware of a RESTful service to do this nor can I find it documented.

One Option:
If you are using internal Form Based authentication. Not SSO / pre-auth or Kerberos.

In the admin console under "Configuration" and "Security" there's an option:

IBI_User_Password_Change
The default value is True, which enables users to change their own passwords.

This option adds the ability to click the USERID that's visible in the BIP portal menu bar and then select Change Password.

Maybe you can use fiddler to capture the call that WebFOCUS is making and program it into your banner.

Hope this helps.

Brian
