I have a report going to Excel that has a soft blue background. It's in this form --

TABLE FILE MADAP_USERS
SUM COMPUTE MEMBER/A3 = 'Yes';
BY USER_NAME AS 'User'
ACROSS GROUP_NAME_FORMATTED AS ''

In the Excel output the cell that is the intersection between the USER_NAME column and the GROUP_NAME_FORMATTED Across (i.e., above the User Names, to the left of the Group Names) comes up white instead of the soft blue. It does not seem to be addressable via style sheet commands.

It's also a very difficult topic to search on. Not the easiest thing to describe in three or four words.

Does anyone know how to get a hold of this odd corner of the reporting canvass?

J.

Please provide the stylesheet that you are currently using so we might be able to make some suggestions.

John,

Easy boy, the weekend is just around the corner and we'll get you there so no stress over the weekend Smiler

The subtleness of a solution is the key. Change the ACROSS title to ' ' from '' and add SET ACROSSTITLE = SIDE and you should be good to break out the GnT!

And then I address the location with the ACROSSTITLE item? It doesn't produce the result I'm coding. TITLE doesn't appear to work either.

No, only the two items I mentioned, no stylesheet change.

-SET &TIME_OF_DAY = HHMMSS('A8');

-* Add environmental setting to place the title for ACROSS verb at the side of the ACROSS Data
SET ACROSSTITLE = SIDE

DEFINE FILE EMPLOYEE
  USER_NAME/A26 = LJUST(15,LAST_NAME,'A15')||(' '|LJUST(10,FIRST_NAME,'A10'));
END

TABLE FILE EMPLOYEE
SUM COMPUTE MEMBER/A3 = 'Yes';
BY USER_NAME AS ''
-* Change the title for the ACROSS so that is puts something in the "cell"
ACROSS DEPARTMENT AS ' '

Looks good, but it's not working in 7.7.03. I may be stuck with a chunk of white in my report.

Thank you for all the help!

You're welcome John, shame it doesn't work on your release - unfortunately I don't have a VM with that release on to see if there's an alternative for you.

Have a great weekend.
