Why on earth does the ROWS OVER column in a HOLD file not have a column name? How would I address this column in a TABLE request?
e.g.
TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT MODEL
BY COUNTRY
ROWS 'JAPAN' OVER 'W GERMANY' OVER 'KOREA'
ON TABLE HOLD AS H001
END

TABLE FILE H001
PRINT *<br />END

Use E01 to reference the first column in the hold file that was created via the ROWS...OVER:

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT MODEL
BY COUNTRY
ROWS 'JAPAN' OVER 'W GERMANY' OVER 'KOREA'
ON TABLE HOLD AS H001
END

TABLE FILE H001
PRINT
E01 AS 'Whatever'
MODEL
-* Model can also be referenced as E02.
END

Thank you.

I was wondering why the field name is not in the HOLD file. I gather it's got something to do with FML.

A little off topic but if you want to check what is in a hold file you can use the command '? HOLD holdfilename'

TABLE FILE CAR
PRINT *
ON TABLE HOLD AS FILE1 FORMAT ALPHA
END
-RUN
? HOLD FILE1
