This is the code I am grappling with.

JOIN CLEAR *
JOIN
LCCAPP1.LCCAPP1.POCODE IN LCCAPP1 TO MULTIPLE LCCAPCO.LCCAPCO.COCODE IN LCCAPCO
AS POCO
END

JOIN
NAKEY WITH RCLIENTNUMB1 IN LCCAPP1 TO MULTIPLE LCCAPNA.LCCAPNA.NACODE
IN LCCAPNA AS PONA
END

It works fine when I just type the code in.

When I use the join tool it changes my selection of COCODE and POCODE to COCODECOMPAN and POCODECOMPAN. Then when I update the procedure, do a define, and choose the LCCAPP1 file it says the field specified can not be found.

Can anybody shed any light on this. We are trying to use the tool instead of coding, which is why Id like to do it in the tool.

Are you using Dev Studio or a browser based join tool?

Are you starting the JOIN in the gui from new or opening the one you typed in?

Are COCODECOMPAN and POCODECOMPAN fields in the table as well as COCODE and POCODE?

If you are starting with a new JOIN WF will make an attempt to identify the correct joins for you. If it is not selecting the correct fields, delete the joins it put in and connect the correct fields together.

Yes I am using Dev Studio

The previous code represents starting a new join for each statments in the join tool.

Yes Both fields are in the table

When I Just cut and paste the code from old focus in the text editor it works. This code looks like this.

JOIN CLEAR *
JOIN POCODE IN LCCAPP1 TO MULTIPLE COCODE IN LCCAPCO AS POCO

JOIN NAKEY WITH RCLIENTNUMB1 IN LCCAPP1 TO MULTIPLE NACODE IN LCCAPNA AS PONA

Define
etc

END

I did get it to select the pocode and cocode, but after my second join I try to bring up report painter and create a new report with the Lccapp1 file it says "Error Parsing Master File lccapp1 (FOC370)The field name used in join cannot be found in file (370)".

Any help

Hi moyer1dl,

Has this issue been resolved on your side?

I ran some search regarding the error message and came across the following topics which may be of interest:

FOCUS tables not JOINing, FOC370 errors

FOC370 in JOIN after release upgrade

FOC370: when trying to JOIN 2 or more files using HOLD

Hope this helps. Smiler

Cheers,

Kerry
