Hi,

I have scheduled a report through reportcaster in Excel2k format. When I try to open the report in android phone, it didn't work.

Do I have to do any special settings for that?

I don't think this has anything to do with WebFOCUS. Ask this same question on some android or microsoft forum, you might get a better answer there.

I know that Android has an Excel viewer App but I suspect that it cannot work with web Archive files (EXL2K format)
Try sending it a format EXCEL If that works then that is the reason. (basically the same issue as with Open Office)

If I create a Excel manually, it works in Android. This is not working only when we generate the excel output through our reportcaster.

That reminds me: When are we going to see support for Open Document Format? I'd even settle for true generic Excel (not embedded in the browser) at this point .... It's true that we can save the servelet as EXL97 and then import it into a Lotus Symphony spreadsheet (having then to fix up the formatting of the headers) but it's really time that IBI got off the pot and provided native ODS output.

we had the same problem. it's a known issue. our case # is 81562528 if you want to keep an eye for a solution from IBI.


Prod: Single Windows 2008 Server running Webfocus 7.7.03 Reporting server Web server IIS6/Tomcat, AS400 DB2 database.
