Hi All,

I have 2 reports with different structure. This reports use two variable:

1. The first one defines the reports output. For Example &OUTPUT='HTML'
2. The second one defines whether to print the report or to save it in a file.

I need to concatenate the output of the reports and print it on the screen or save it in a file, depending on the second variable. I have found a way to print the reports on the screen by using -HTMLFORM but I do not know how to save the output of the reports in a file.

Can you tell me if it is possible and how can I do that (irrespective of the output type)?

Thanks in advance!!!

You have in fact two questions.
1) Concatenate two reports.

2) output format.

The second on is easy, put this in your code

ON TABLE NOTOTAL
ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT &WFFMT.(<HTML,HTML>,<PDF,PDF>,<Excel 2000,EXL2K>,<Excel Formula,EXL2K FORMULA>).Select type of display output.
ON TABLE SET HTMLCSS ON

The first is a bit less easy. It depends on the output format. Use the compound report builder.

If your compound is HTML this could be the code

-* File DEMO3.fex
-SET &FORMAAT='HTML';
SET COMPOUND = OPEN
EX demo WFFMT=&FORMAAT
SET COMPOUND = OPEN NOBREAK
EX demo2 WFFMT=&FORMAAT

Supposed the two fexes demo and demo2 have WFFMT as variable for the format.

If you want this in PDF, the compound report looks a bit different.

Thanks for the answer FrankDutch.

Actually my second question is: How can I save in one file the concatenated reports?

Yes I know that in PDF it looks a little bit different but that is something else.
