We would like to use the Mercury LoadRunner tool to simulate a workload hitting the WebFocus Managed Reporting Environment. Our local LoadRunner expert is having difficulties in getting the LoadRunner script to work.

He tells me he can record the script just fine. But, upon playback it fails. The task I am asking him to simulate is as follows:
1) Logon to MRE
2) Open a domain
3) Open folder
4) Open fex
5) Run fex
6) Close window
7) Logoff

Has anybody else been successful in using LoadRunner with WebFocus MRE?

LR Works by recording key strokes to a macro language. Have used it on Web applications and wf is just another Webapp, but not Webfocus directly. The trick was to get the injector? pc config consistent so that the key strokes produced the same results. There is a debug function that should allow you to do this.

WebFocus has its own capacity planning tool that does what LoadRunner does and is built-in.
Great for simulating work loads with different number of concurrent users.
You get it automatically when you buy the Cluster control feature, or whatever its called.
Ask your IBI rep.
