Hi everybody,

I was looking for resolution of my problem but I did not find it.

I trying run report from portal on specific adapter.
- I create new application directory and add a few master files.
- Next, I create new adapter and in "profile" field insert name of created application.
- Restart server.
- Create report on portal using master file from previous created application
- When run it and check adapters status report was run on "DEFAULT" adapter instead of my own profile.

Are you have any advice or manual to view?

Best,
Mateusz

The reporting server always executes profiles in this order. Server Global Profile (edasprof.prf), Data Service Profile, Group Profile, then user profile. Last one executed overrides the previous profile if it has any common commands. If there you have a user profile it will always exec your profile which will override the previous. Only way to do this is to remove/comment out any common commands in your profile or add the connection statements to your procedure.

Thank for reply.
Unfortunately I don't understand everything what about you writing.

I send you more details about my testing environment:

- I use WebFOCUS 81 Server

My configuration:
1. Web Console:
- Application tab -> Application Directories -> "adventureworks" <- this is my test application directory
- it contains a few master files,
- also contain "advntprof.fex" file with content -> "APP PATH adventureworks"

- Adapter tab -> MS SQL Server 2012: 2014 -> here is configured connection to database which I use

- Workspace tab -> Workspace -> Data Services -> "AdvWkApp" with the following content in profile line -> "adventureworks/advntprof"
-> Configuration Files -> User/Group Profiles -> "advntprof" file with content -> "APP PATH adventureworks"

Best,
Mateusz

Are you saying in the master file you used the mfd_profile option and all you did was reference the application folder? If that is the case that is not the way to do that. The mfd_profile should reference a fex file with commands which could include APP PATH.

Thank you for using Focal Point!

That mean field "profile" should looks like that "application directory/fex file" ?
For example: "adventureworks/advntprof" ?

You are actually talking about Data Services, not adaptors.

You need to define a new server to the WF client. From the client admin console, add a new server and make sure you define the data service class=client(dataservicename). From there, you need to edit the properties of the domains that have the procedures you are running in your portal. One of the property options is the "Server Properties". You can assign it to the new server/data-service.
