When In Doubt, McGyver It

Every year when Summit time comes around, my colleague Art Greenhouse and I debate whether to include information on McGyver. Every year, we are convinced that we should show the most common use of the technique, which is multiple reports that are the same but with different sort criteria.

Recently we had two customer calls regarding WEBFOCUS, which were both solved by McGyver, but were used for a single report. This article looks at those requests and solutions. Yes, on InfoResponse Online the technique is spelled MacGyver, and I spell it McGyver. Well, Mac is a Scot and I’m Irish. Actually, I was afraid of copyright infringement, because the television show was called “MacGyver.”
