I am able o create an email hyperlink in HTML with no problem:
 emailaddress/A200V= '<a href="mailto:'|| SUPPORTEMAIL || '">' || DIVISIONCONTACT || '</a>';

But now I need to do the same in PDF. The same code does not work.

I have tried the following in the stylesheet:
 -*TYPE=SUBHEAD,
BY=REPORTINGSYSTEMNAME,
     LINE=1,
ITEM=4,
URL=emailaddress ,
$

SUPPORTEMAIL contains the email address.
so emailaddress is emailaddress/A207= 'mailto:'|| SUPPORTEMAIL ;"
That doesn't work either.
Has anyone done this in PDF and can show me the way.

Thanks!
Marilyn

OK. Part of the problem solved:
I just put the field in the report and magically, when you click on it, it opens an email. The problem: When you do that, the PDF file appears as a blank report. (If I hit the back button or refresh the screen, it will come back. But that is more than I can expect from the users.)
Any idea how to keep the PDF report in the container after hitting the link? [Interestingly enough, after I refresh once, it stays there the next time I hit an email link. Odd little quirk!!]

This seems to work (you have to substitute the hard-coded emails by your fields):

TABLE FILE CAR
SUM
CAR.BODY.SALES
COMPUTE EMAILADDRESS/A207 =
   'mailto:' || 'nowhere@google.com'
|| '?cc=' || 'nobody@google.com'
|| '&|bcc=' || 'everybody@google.com'
|| '&|subject=' || 'WebFOCUS Report'
|| '&|body=' || 'The%20body%20of%20the%20email'; NOPRINT

BY  CAR.ORIGIN.COUNTRY

ON TABLE SUBFOOT
" "
"Email <+0 moi"

ON TABLE PCHOLD FORMAT PDF

ON TABLE SET STYLE *
TYPE=TABFOOTING,
     LINE=2,
     OBJECT=TEXT,
     ITEM=2,
     URL=(EMAILADDRESS),
$
ENDSTYLE
END

Thank you, Francis!!!
What I was missing is the following:
quote:
URL=(EMAILADDRESS),

You are the BEST!

If it's a DEFINE, you have to reference the column in the report:

...
PRINT
...
EMAILADDRESS NOPRINT
...

Kudos to you, Francis! I have posted here when I need help; and often, you have been the one to provide just the help I need.

Never knew how to put the subject in the email, until just now, either.

Thanks, again!
