[CLOSED] which right/rule for CM Export
Hi,

can someone show me the configuration sothat I can qualify a user to be able to create/edit and download CM Export and Import files?

right now, I just get a user (no admin) that far, that he can create a new Szenario but can just add metadata and no content fexes...

Thanks

Under Security, what Role does the user have? Let's say he's a DomainDeveloper. If you right click and Edit, under Application Development folder you'll see Resource Export and Resource Export Download. If you check these two you'll give the right to that role to export.

@BabakNYC
So under Security Center > Groups and the Role > Edit > where is the Application Development? I just see Group Name, External Groups and Description.

Can you explain where to click??

Sec Center> Roles

You'll see list of roles. It needs to be a Domainxxxxx. Say DomainDeveloper. Right click that and you'll see a bunch of check boxes for all kinds of privileges.

ok, got it. But THere's still the Problem:
My user is able to create a Szeanrio, but he can just add metadata and so Content fexes plus he can't see his created Szenarios. Needs to be something different :/

If you go to Admin Console Configuration> Application Settings > Change Management, the first item you see is File Types Included in Export Package. It lists all the extensions he's allowed to export separated with commas. Make sure fex is one of them.

it is one of them.
I can Include every Content Fex, jpg, Portal whatever in a CM Package, but I'm a admin. So there Needs to be a right missing for the other user I want to qualify

Right click on the DomainDeveloper> Security > Effective Policy... You'll get a new window that shows all the users with this role. Pick the user in question and see what Privileges they have. I'm out of ideas beyond that. Someone who can create an export should be able to add Domain content to the package unless they don't have access to that content.

You may want to open a ticket with IB tech support to see if they can help you figure out what's wrong.

Thanks @Doug

Can you also explain how to adjust these privileges?
We really clicked all the possible rights for the developer role without success

In the security center there is a tab at the top that says "Roles". When you click on that it displays a list of Roles. Do you see one that is labeled DomainDeveloper. This role gets created when you create an Enterprise Domain from the content folder. If it does not exist then you have never done that. Enterprise Domains make managing security much easier and you should look into it.

If it does not exist then you are using the WF_Role_Developer rold and you will see it has a Lock on it. You will need to right mouse click on it and choose 'Clone' to create a new version of it. Once you do that you right mouse click on it and choose 'Edit'. At that point all the permissions for that role are displayed. Scroll down to the Applicaiton Development section and check the Resouce Export permission and then click OK. Now you will need to assign that group to each user you want to have that permission.

PS if you do have the DomainDeveloper role you can edit it without cloning and add that permission as well and everyone who has the role assigned will automatically have that permission next time they log in.

Hopefully this helps.
