I tried different ways to search for this string but, couldn't get results like I need. I understand both % and _ are masking characters but, how to search for them literally in a string. for e.g. D_ACB9XKDU

TABLE FILE INV
PRINT ELEMENT
WHERE ELEMENT LIKE 'D_%'
END

It returns values like
DW009
DM004
etc., but I'm looking specifically for rows starting with D_

Please help!

This can be done by using the ESCAPE command in the WHERE or IF statement.

TABLE FILE INV
PRINT ELEMENT
WHERE ELEMENT LIKE 'D\_%' ESCAPE '\'
END

Its in the documentations and also previously on the forum, here.

Hi Waz,
Thanks for your response. It didn't help and I get 0 records. Our customer had to choose to put _ (underscore) to flag some items didn't realize its hard to filter on. We may end up choosing another character to prefix with but, I'd like to try all options to filter these records. Please help with any more suggestions

Vaayu, can you please edit your first post in the thread and add [SOLVED] or [CLOSED] to the title.

The icon is a folder with a pencil.
