If you do a Winform Show command from a form event in that same form, is Maintain smart enough show the same form or does it add that same form to the Maintain windows stack?

I am asking because an event on the form I am using calls the procedure that showed it in the first place as a way of resetting the form.

If you perform a WINFORM SHOW form, and that form is already displayed you will get an error message. You just cannot do this. The best way around it is to separate the WINFORM SHOW command from the procedure that performs it. So you can have:

CASE TOP
PERFORM LOADER
WINFORM SHOW FORM1
ENDCASE

Then from the event, just perform LOADER. The form WILL refresh when you return to the server.

Does the error happen server side or client side? I don't get an error on the client.

What happens is this:

1) The form is shown from a procedure in the main program. The procedure is called from an event on another form.

2) The save button on the form calls a save procedure in the main program.

3) If the save is a success, it calls the procedure that was originally called to show the form in the first place.

I don't get any errors on the client side when this is done.

The error should be displayed on the type of your form. It just says:

Error: Cannot show form that is already active.

If you have warnings set off, you may not even see it. I do not think this would effect processing. It just means that you are not really refreshing the form. Just the data on it.

Ah. The no warnings explains it. Thanks.
