Dear All,

Our webfocus 7.6.5 is using a repository under sql server 2005. Due to an upgrade to sql server 2008 we restored the repository under sql server 2008 and we changed the classpath of the server to use the
sqljdbc4 which is recommended for this release of sql server.
But we are facing the following issue.

1/ The distributor starts in console mode.
2/ We are not able to connect to the console to manage our schedules
3/ We tried to delete the repository and re-create it but the script is returning a syntax error
This makes us think there an incompatibility between webfocus 7.6.5 and sql server 2008.

My question is the following.

1/ Can webfocus 7.6.5 use a repository running under sql 2008?
2/ If yes, did we do something wrong?

Any idea or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards.

Majid.

I think you'd best upgrade your webfocus release also.
The 765 you're using did, at the time of release, not know of sql 2008, so I'm not surprised it doesn't work with that sql version.
You could also try to use the jdbc for sql2005, but I'm not sure if that will interface ok with sql2008.

Which JDBC driver version are you using? 2.0 or 3.0? You might want to try using 3.0. We just had an issue with 7.7.03 and Java 1.6.17 using the 2.0 version which we had to update to 3.0 using the sqljdbc4 driver.

Hi MattC and Gamp,

I think the issue is an incompability with the java and the JDBC version 3.0 we are using.
We are using BEA as a web server and JROCKIT as jdk.
I will try to use microsoft jdk and see if this will solve the issue.
Thanks to both of you for your suggestions.

Regards.
