I would like to use botsched to retrieve a large file from the mainframe to use as data
source for reports created in WebFOCUS.

This file is created nightly in a batch process.

Can anyone provide any pointers? I am researching this on the Techsupport site.

Thanks Wink

First off, when you say using BOTSCHED, do you mean you'd like to time this process to run under ReportCaster?

Off hand, I'd say to use System/Shell commands to do a copy (or cp) of the file into one of the WebFOCUS APP directories. You'll need a corresponding MAS file that provides the data definition.

From your signature it looks like you have WebFOCUS on the Mainframe.

Where is the file to end up ?
Is there a WebFOCUS there ?

If so, and the connectivity exsts, you can get WebFOCUS to "PCHOLD" the file to one of the other WebFOCUS installs.

You could also call FTP if it is available.

We would need to know more info on the source and destination.
