[SOLVED] Need to use LOG base 10, but the WebFOCUS function is base e

I am trying to create an equation that uses LOG base 10, but WebFOCUS only has a function for LOG base e. Is there an existing function that I can use for LOG base 10? Or maybe a way to convert the answer to base 10? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi rmluell - check this out. Perhaps you can use some of the information they exchanged.

Hope it helps - it is from 2005, however it may still pertain to what you are attempting to accomplish.

Rhonda,

I never used Log10 in that post, just that I needed it.

If you want to convert to Log10 from LogN then JG has already supplied the conversion factor.

If you want to convert a natural log (Ln) to a log of a different base, you can use:

Log10(x)=Ln(x)/Ln(10)

You can use this to convert a natural log to log in any base.

JG - That's exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!

Tony- Yeah, I had actually found that post, but it didn't solve my problem.

Tewy - Does the LN() function exist in WebFOCUS? I couldn't find it. I need to be able to do the equations within WebFOCUS.

Ln is just another way of writing Log to the base e, which is what is available in WebFocus.
