How do I copy a file from one server to another server?

How do I know the location of my save hold file?

Q1. You can always use ftp. If you are on Windows, you can map the drive from the target server on the source server.

Q2. Unless you specifically tell WebFOCUS where you want your file to go, it will go in EDATEMP and be deleted at the end of your session. If you want to save it, you will have to do something like an APP HOLD dirname or an APP FI (filedef) command to place the file in a permanent location.

Hopefully that is enough to get you started.

if you're on unix, this is a handy tool
http://winscp.net/eng/index.php
you can copy from one server to your desktop
then log on to the other server and copy back from your desktop to that server.
Your signature says Winxp, and Oracle, but i think its missing something

Susannah,

FYI, we use SCP (secure ftp) to copy from one Unix box to another without having to go through Windows.
