Hi all,

is there a way of making a cell selected upon entry of a read-write grid, so the user does not have to double-click in the cell? WebFOCUS Dev Studio 4.3.6 SP6.

Sure... in the maintain developing applications manual there is pretty complete doc on the read/write grid.

you need the GotoCell function.

cheers

Bob,

what else do I have to do? The GotoCell function does not seem to do the job. Do I have to use some other function as well?

This information's in the online help and in the doc...

You might be having a problem because:

1. it's gotta *not* be a maintain case; rather it's typically a vbscript function.

2. You should call the redrawall function right after to apply the change.

sample code, placed in an onclick button event handler formatted as vbscript:

Form1.Grid1.GoToCell 2, 5
Form1.Grid1.RedrawAll

Hope this helps!

This is the code that we use to make the grid cell editable without having to double click:

Place the following Javascript code in the focus event handler on the grid:
1 Form1.Grid1.StartEdit();
2 Set the tab order to go from a button to the grid.

I hope this helps.
