I have a request to create a multi drill from a bar graph...

The last post I saw - 2005 - stated this can't be done, so my question here is, has anyone found a way to do this recently, and if so how?

Define Multi-Drill. We drill down from bar graphs all the time and have been for years. I don't understand multi-drill.

I'm assuming Marvin is talking about the DRILLMENUITEM option available for reports that allows a single drill to run more than one report. Have never tried it with graphs.

Marvin, look up DRILLMENUITEM and try it with the CAR file. That should tell you rather quickly whether it can be done or not.

Yes, I was referring to the DRILLMENUITEM option. I searched DRILLMENUITEM in the help doc and I got nothing - it would describes how to create the menu from a report. I searched FP and again and found another post (2007) and again seemed to confirm this option is not achieveable in WF.

Marvin,

If you want to test it to make sure, you can find documentation on the syntax for DRILLMENUITEM in the "Creating Reports With WebFOCUS Lanuage" manual.

And if help doesn't help you, please check the Advanced Search link in the upper-right corner of this page.

It won't work this way

the DRILLMENUITEM creates in fact a small javascript that works well in HTML
If you report in PDF or EXCEL it will not work either.
In a graph this is the same problem.

There will be some smart workarounds I suppose.

Marvin,

I don't know if this is going to help you out or not, but I found this post on the forum not too long ago about creating hover overs in reports.

here is a link to the post: Hover Over Post

I haven't tried this in a graph yet, so I don't know how it would work in there. But you might be able to make some adjustments to suit your multidrill needs.
